InDesign is the new standard in professional layout and design software, delivering faster production workflows and a fluid creative environment for designing professional layouts with sophisticated graphics and typography. PubCom is currently offering the following InDesign classes:
This basic introduction to Adobe InDesign teaches you how to create desktop publishing projects from start to finish making master pages, creating stylesheets for formatting text, importing text and graphics, setting up printing ink colors, preflighting, exporting press-quality and web-quality PDFs, and packaging files for the service bureau. Bevi also slips in a lot of graphic design concepts and guidelines, too.
This class is for beginners who may or may not have previous experience with another desktop publishing program, or who might have rusty DTP skills. By the end of the class, you will have completed at least one flyer and a multi-page booklet.

This is Bevi Chagnon's fun, eclectic hands-on class in how to do fancy designer tricks and special effects in InDesign. She'll demo the steps and give handouts with detailed how-to's so you'll be able to replicate these tricks when you're back at your desk. As usual, Bevi will also include the technicalities you need to know to ensure that your files fly smoothly through your service bureau's RIP and imagesetter. By the end of the class, you will have created a whole bunch of cool stuff and will be inspired to include them in your next projects.

Bevi Chagnon is not only an award-winning publications designer, she's an Adobe Certified Expert (ACE) for InDesign — so you know you'll receive superior training in her classes.
Working in digital media since the early 1980s, when the first primitive desktop publishing applications were developed, Bevi describes herself as being in "pig heaven" every time she teaches a class that demystifies fancy technologies and helps people put them to work.
Extended Lab Time
PubCom's hands-on computer classes include self-paced practice time after class, from 4 - 5pm. Although our instructors are available for assistance, the extended lab period is intended to give you a chance to practice what was covered in class, delve into additional topics, and hone your skills in the software.
